Here’s my annual summer maple creemee scoop featuring another fine Vermont ice cream shop. Last summer, it was Silloway Farm in Randolph Center . This summer, my pick is…drumroll please… Gladstone Creamery at 9 US Route 5 South in Fairlee, Vermont. It’s a delightful blast of pure maple syrup mixed with soft serve ice cream, all swirled around into a cone or cup for a hot summer’s day delight. Maple creemees, by the way, originated in Vermont and have a higher fat content than most soft serve ice creams. They have a more butterfat, making them more dense and much richer in texture (and taste) than their vanilla or chocolate counterparts. Hey, it’s a real Vermont thing to enjoy a decadent dessert! Gladtone Creamery is an easy off ramp from Interstate 91’s north or southbound Exit 15. It’s in the Wing’s Market & Deli parking lot, tucked away next to the train tracks, with a pleasant spot to relax in high-backed Adirondack chairs under a towering of shady maple trees. While the Gladstone Creamery maple creemee gets a full-on 5 star rating from me, my son tells me their maple bacon hard ice cream is like heaven on the tongue. Plenty of other flavors are yours to try once you get there. For today, this scored a big hit with my son as we wandered around the growing town of Fairlee, Vermont. It’s worth a trip!
Here’s a Gladstone Creamery review I found online at TripAdvisor. I couldn’t have said it better myself…
Heavenly Homemade Maple Soft Serve Ice Cream
Gladstone Creamery is a real Vermont treat we discovered in Fairlee, Vermont!
We loved Gladstone's Home Made Maple Soft Serve Ice Cream made with Maple Syrup. The Maple Soft Serve is bursting with creamy maple flavor. The large Sugar Waffle Cone is fresh and crispy perfectly blending the delicious and refreshing taste of the Maple Cream Soft Serve. The new owners are very friendly and helpful taking time to assist you with making your selection and describing that their soft serve ice cream source is Hatchland Dairy Farm that they blend with Maple Syrup. We look forward to trying the Maple Cream and Coffee Soft Serve Swirl next year. You can really taste the quality difference at Gladstone Creamery which is a new must stop destination we are sure to return to on our journey through the back roads of Vermont.
That’s all for now. I’ll send more as my sweet tooth gets the itch for another dose of luscious maple creemee in a cone.

Try Silver Lake Syrup's maple creemee in Barnard. It's the real deal and unparalleled!
I'll give it a try. Thx for sharing!
